PC murder suspect arrested

Police have confirmed that a man arrested following an armed siege in Wales is one of the suspects wanted in connection with the murder of PC Sharon Beshenivsky last month.

West Yorkshire Police said that 24-year-old Muzzaker Imtiaz Shah was one of two men arrested during the incident at a house in Cromwell Road in Newport, south Wales.

A 23-year-old man was also arrested. Both men have been taken to West Yorkshire for questioning.

During the standoff people near to the house were evacuated and the street was cleared. Police asked residents in the area to stay inside and keep away from windows for their own safety.

PC Beshenivsky who was shot during a robbery in Bradford on November 18. Her colleague PC Teresa Milburn was injured.

Police have been hunting two men in relation to the incident Muzzaker Imtiaz Shah, 24, and Mustaf Jama, 25.

Detective Superintendent Andy Brennan from West Yorkshire Police said that police were still keen to trace Mr Jama and urged him to contact police “as a matter of urgency”.

Det Supt Brennan also reminded the public that there was a £90,000 reward available for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the murder.

Two Teenagers Arrested Over West Lothian Body Find
West Lothian Police investigating the discovery of a man's body on Wednesday night have arrested two 18-year-old men. Police say that the body of a 31-year-old was found at a house in Marmion Road in Bathgate at about 17:40 on Wednesday. The death is being treated as "unexplained". Police say the investigation is ongoing.
