Baby joy for Abigail Witchalls
Abigail Witchalls, who was left paralysed after being stabbed in the neck earlier this year, has given birth to a baby boy.
Abigail 26, gave birth to the baby at St George’s Hospital in Tooting, south London, on Friday afternoon.
Abigail, 26, was stabbed in the neck as she walked home with her toddler son Joseph in Little Bookham, Surrey on April 20 this year.
She was left paralysed after the attack and it was initially feared that she would not survive. However, her condition began to improve while she was being treated at the Spinal Cord Injury Centre at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, north London.
She was allowed to return home last week, after undergoing six months of treatment for the injuries she sustained in the attack.
It was revealed that Abigail was pregnant, two months after the attack.
A spokesperson for St George’s Hospital said: “Abigail and Benoit Witchalls are delighted to announce the birth of a healthy baby boy weighing 5lbs and 6oz.
“The delivery went very well and mother and baby are doing fine.”

Police granted more time to question Abigail suspect
Surrey police have been granted more time to question a 25-year-old man in connection with the stabbing of Abigail Witchalls last week. The man was arrested on Wednesday evening in Croydon, south London and is being held in custody at Staines police station. Police will now be able to question him until Saturday morning.

Missing Baby Found 'Safe And Well'
A nine-month-old baby girl who was reported missing from her home in Glouchestershire on Monday has been found safe and well. Maylayah Delaney had been reported missing by her mother shortly before lunch-time on Monday. Police have confirmed that a man from the West Midlands is helping them with their inquiries.

Abigail’s attacker held knife to son’s throat
The man who stabbed young mother Abigail Witchalls in the neck first held a knife to the throat of her 21-month-old son Joseph, police said. Mrs Witchalls, who is still in St Georges Hospital in south London, following the attack in Little Bookham, Surrey, last Wednesday, gave her statement to the police yesterday.
