Three arrested over homophobic murder

Police investigating the murder of Jody Dobrowski have announced that three men have been arrested in connection with the case.

Mr Dobrowski, a 24-year-old bar manager from southeast London, was beaten to death on Clapham Common in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A post-mortem examination revealed that Mr Dobrowski died from severe head, neck and facial injuries sustained in what is believed to be a homophobic attack.

Police confirmed that three men were arrested on Monday in connection with the murder. They have been released on bail as the investigation continues.

On Monday, police described the attack as a “sustained and violent assault” and have warned that the attack may be linked to other assaults in the area, which is known to be a popular meeting area for gay men.

Last month, two men attempted to strangle a man on the Common after one of them pretended to be interested in having sex with him. However, the man, who had military training, was able to escape.

Police believe that up to a dozen people may have been in the area at the time of the attack and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
