Man charged with Rochelle murder

A man has been charged with the murder of south London teenager Rochelle Holness, whose dismembered body was found in Catford last week.

John McGrady, 47, from Milford Towers, Catford, appeared before Belmarsh Magistrates on Saturday, charged with the fifteen-year-old's murder.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear before the Old Bailey on October 7.

Rochelle, who was from Lewisham, disappeared last Sunday after leaving her home to use a phone box near the Milford Towers estate.

She was reported missing on Tuesday by her parents, who had assumed she was staying with friends.

Her body was discovered in bin liners at a flat in Milford Towers on Wednesday.

A 47-year-old woman arrested following the discovery of the body was later released without charge.
