London bomb suspect arrested
A suspect sought in connection with an abortive attempt to bomb London on July 21 was arrested today following his extradition to the UK.
Ethiopian-born Hussain Osman, 27, also known as Hamdi Isaac, had been arrested in Rome one week on from the London attacks. He was extradited from Italy and will face questioning by UK police in relation to an alleged attempt to set off a device on a Tube train at Sheperd's Bush.
On his arrival at RAF Northolt today, he was arrested by police on suspicion of attempted murder and explosives offences.
Mr Osman, who was held at Rebibbia Prison in Rome, had lost an appeal against extradition. Authorities in Rome had dismissed the appeal which had claimed that Mr Osman not receive a fair trial in the UK.
Three other suspects, Ibrahim Muktar Said, 27, from Stoke Newington, north London, Yassin Hassan Omar, 24, from North Kensington, west London, and Ramzi Mohamed, 23, New Southgate, north London, are being held at Belmarsh maximum security prison.
The three men have been charged with attempt to murder and possession of explosives with the intent to endanger life.
A fourth man, Manfo Kwaku Asiedu, 32, of Finsbury Park, north London, faces charges of conspiracy to murder, and conspiracy to cause explosions following the discovery of an device on July 23.
All four were remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on November 14.
