Police search for van in Amelie murder hunt

Police investigating the murder of French student Amelie Delagrange have announced a £20,000 reward for information regarding a van, which may be linked to the case.

Police have published new photographs of the van – a white Ford Courier, registration P610 XCN – which were taken around May last year in Hillingdon, west London.

Amelie, 22, was attacked in Twickenham Green on August 19 last year, after spending the evening at Cristalz wine bar in London Road.

She died from severe head injuries in hospital shortly after the attack.

No one has been charged in connection with Amelie’s murder. A 36-year-old man, arrested last November, was bailed until September.

Police believe that the van, which was registered to Cargo Air Services in Heathrow, could have been legally sold on and may now be in the possession of a member of the public.

Detective Chief Inspector Colin Sutton said that a reward was being offered because police believed the van was of “vital importance” to the case.

Police believe that the suspect used the van both before the murder and the day Amelie was attacked.

The murder of Amelie Delagrange has been linked to several other attacks on women in the area, including the killing of 19-year-old Marsha McDonnell in Hampton in February 2003.
