Four held following anti-terror raids

Police have arrested four men on suspicion of terrorism offences, following a series of raids in London.

Officers raided three addresses in the Barnet and Finchley areas of north London in the early hours of this morning.

It is understood that two men were arrested after police stopped a vehicle in Barnet High Road.

It has been reported that the road was closed off this mornings, while searches continued on the vehicle. Searches are also reportedly continuing at the three addresses.

The men, reported to be aged 31, 37, 58 and 63, are being held under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act and are being questioned regarding suspected links to Islamic terror groups.

Three Arrested By Anti-Terrorism Unit In Walsall
West Midland Police have arrested two men and a woman in Walsall on suspicion of Syria related terrorism offences. Officers from the Counter Terrorism Unit carried out raids on three addresses at 6am on Tuesday morning. Two men aged 21 and 27, and a 21-year-old woman, were arrested at their homes.

Five arrested in anti-terror raids
Five men have been arrested under the Terrorism Act in a series of anti-terror raids in West Yorkshire and Manchester. Two men, aged 29 and 25, were arrested in dawn raids in Halifax, carried out by officers from the Metropolitan Police Counter Terrorism Command and West Yorkshire Police.

Arrests Made Over Fatal Stabbing
Three men have been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a teenager in east London earlier this year. Godwin Lawson, a 17-year-old footballer from Enfield, north London, died after he was stabbed in Stamford Hill on 27 March. Two other men, aged 18 and 20, were also stabbed during the incident.

Raids On Addresses Of Gang Involved In London Disorder
Metropolitan Police Service officers from Brent Borough and the Territorial Support Group carried out raids at 23 addresses across the Stonebridge Estate, Harlesden, NW10 early this morning. The action was in direct response to evidence gathered against members of the 'Thugs of Stonebridge' gang during and after last summer's disorder.

Four men in court over terrorism charges
Four men have appeared in court charged with a number of terrorism offences following a series of raids by anti-terror police in London earlier this month. Yassin Mutegombwa, 22, his 20-year-old brother Hassan, Musa Akmet, 47 and Mustafa Abdullah, 24, have all been charged under anti-terrorism legislation.
