Abigail to view photo line-up

Police have confirmed that stab victim Abigail Witchalls will view a series of photos, including one of a suspect who killed himself several days after the attack.

The 26-year-old will see pictures of 12 men, including 23-year-old Richard Cazaly. Mr Cazaly, who had lived near Abigail in Little Bookham, Surrey, left to go to Scotland shortly after the attack took place. He later died of an apparent overdose, on April 30.

Mr Cazaly had left suicide notes, which appeared to suggest that he had committed the attack on Abigail. However, police said that the contents of the notes did not amount to a confession and also stated that no trace of Abigail’s DNA was found during forensic tests on jeans worn by Mr Cazaly. He is still, however, regarded as a suspect in the case.

Abigail was stabbed in the neck as she returned home from a mothers and toddlers meeting with her 21-month-old son Joseph, in Little Bookham, Surrey on April 20.

She was left paralysed after the attack, but a statement released by the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital last week said that she was beginning to regain sensation in most of her body.
