Fourth man charged with Mary-Ann murder
A fourth man has been charged with the murder of Reading teenager Mary-Ann Leneghan, Thames Valley Police have confirmed.
Llewellyn Olemide Adams, 23, was charged with the murder of the 16-year-old this afternoon.
Earlier today, two men appeared in court charged with Mary-Ann's murder. 19-year-old Adrian Anthony Thomas from south-east London and 18-year-old Indrit Krasniqi from west London, appeared and were remanded in custody at Reading Magistrates Court. They are due to reappear before Reading Crown Court on Thursday. The two teenagers have also been charged with the kidnap and attempted murder of Mary-Ann’s friend.
At the weekend, a third man, 21-year-old Jamaile Morally, from Balham, south London, was remanded in custody charged with murder and is also due to appear before Reading Crown Court on Thursday.
Mary-Ann and her 18-year-old friend are believed to have been abducted from a pub car park on May 6 by a group of men in Reading. They were taken to a local guesthouse, where they were subjected to physical and sexual assaults before being taken to Prospect Park, where Mary-Ann’s body was discovered in the early morning of May 7. She had died from a stab wound to the neck.
Her 18-year-old friend raised the alarm. She survived the attack despite suffering a gunshot wound.
Police have also confirmed that they have seized a vehicle, which is now being examined to see if it was the car used during the attack on the two girls.
