Amelie police investigate another attack
Police investigating the murder of French student Amelie Delagrange are investigating an attack on another woman.
The 33-year-old woman was approached from behind and struck on the head as she waited at a bus stop in west London, on December 16, 2003.
The woman, who was talking to her husband on her mobile phone at the time, can remember nothing of the attack, which occurred near the White Horse Pub in Old Bath Road around 7:45pm. She woke up the next day in hospital, suffering from a wound to the head.
Police said they believed the attacker might have been in a black Volkswagen Golf. The car was seen near the scene of the attack, with two or three people inside it.
Police are also appealing for another woman who was waiting at the bus stop to come forward. She has been described as being tall, white and aged between 20 – 30, with short layered hair. She was also carrying either a rucksack or a duffle coat.
Police have not officially linked the attack to the death of Miss Delagrange, although they are looking into the possibility of links between that attack, along with a series of other incidents, including the murder of 19-year-old Marsha McDonnell in February 2003.
Miss Delagrange, 22, was attacked and killed in Twickenham Green in August last year.
