Snooker star cleared of sex attack

Snooker player Quinten Hann has been cleared of charges of sexual assault of two women at his home.

The 27-year-old, from Ealing, West London, was found not guilty of two charges of sexual assault, as well as one count of actual bodily harm and another of common assault, over the incident which was alleged to have taken place on August 29 last year.

The jury at Isleworth Crown Court heard that Mr Hann met the two women at a nightclub in the West End of London last year. The women told the court that Mr Hann had behaved like a “crazed animal” and one of them claimed that he had repeatedly hit her as she lay on the ground, leaving her bloodied and bruised with a smashed tooth.

Mr Hann claimed that both women had lied and said that the 32-year-old singer was a “kiss and teller” who had sold her story to a national newspaper for £1,000.

The jury of three men and nine women took over three hours to reach a not guilty verdict.

The jury had not been told that Mr Hann, who is currently rated 22nd in the world, had been found not guilty of the rape of a student at the Savoy Hotel in London in 2002.
