Tickets for U2 Dublin show sell out in record time

U2's record-breaking run of ticket sales for their forthcoming world tour, continued today with the sell-out of two concerts in Dublin.

Over 150,000 tickets sold out in just under an hour for the two shows, which will take place at Croke Park in Dublin on June 24 and 25. The tickets went on sale at 8am this morning, priced between 59.50 and 80 euros, alongside tickets for shows in Paris and Nice.

The Dublin concerts are part of the Irish rockers' Vertigo world tour, which kicks off in San Diego on March 28 and includes 13 other US shows, as well as 24 concerts in Europe.

U2 have already sold out concerts in Manchester, Glasgow, Cardiff and London in the UK, as well as a number of shows in the USA, including Chicago, New York, Los Angeles and Philadelphia and the opening European date in Brussels. Many extra dates have had to be added to cope with the extraordinary demand for tickets.

The record breaking sales look set to continue as tickets for U2 concerts in Vienna, Oslo and Amsterdam go on sale on Saturday, followed by tickets for shows in Copenhagen, Gothenburg and Chorzow on sale from Monday.
