Murder probe set up after disco shooting
Thames Valley police have launched a murder investigation after a woman was shot at a disco in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Natasha Nichole Derby, 25, of Crest Road, High Wycombe, was shot at around 2.30am inside the Multi-Racial Centre in St Mary’s Street, High
Wycombe. She passed away at Wycombe General Hospital last night.
The centre had been booked for a reggae night and, as the evening was drawing to a close, it appears Natasha was shot on the dancefloor, a police spokesperson said. There were at least 100 people inside the centre at the time of the shooting.
Det Ch Insp Andy Taylor, who is leading the investigation, said: “We know the event was advertised in Slough, Reading and London and there will be people from these areas who were at the centre that we need to speak to. You could have seen something you might not realise is significant but that could be vital in tracking down the offender.
“There could also be people who did not attend the event but were in High Wycombe town centre in the early hours who may have seen people who left the club following the shooting and have key information."
He added: "Our thoughts and sympathies are with Natasha’s family at this difficult time.”
Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact police on 0845 8 505 505, or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
