Eight terror accused remanded in custody
Eight men charged with terrorism-related offences have been remanded in custody following a court hearing this morning.
The eight men, who have all have been charged with conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to commit public nuisance, appeared at the Old Bailey via videolink. They will reappear in court on September 3.
The eight are: Mohammed Naveed Bhatti, 24, from Harrow, Middlesex; Abdul Aziz Jalil, 31, from Luton, Bedfordshire; Omar Abdul Rehman, 20, from Bushey, Hertfordshire; Junade Feroze, 28, from Blackburn, Lancashire; Zia Ul Haq, 25, from Paddington, London; and Dhiren Barot, 32, Qaisar Shaffi, 25, and Nadeem Tarmohammed, 26, all from Willesden, London.
The men are alleged to have "conspired together with other persons unknown to murder other persons contrary to Section 1(1) of the Criminal Law Act 1977 and commit public nuisance by the use of radioactive materials, toxic gases, chemicals and/or explosives to cause disruption, fear or injury contrary to Section 1 (1) of the Criminal Law Act 1977".
Mr Barot, Mr Tarmohammed and Mr Shaffi have also been charged with possession of documents likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.
The accused, who were arrested in UK-wide police swoops on August 3, first appeared in court on August 18.

Police Re-Issue Appeal For Missing 15-Year-old
Police in Barnet have issued a fresh appeal for help to find a vulnerable 15-year-old who has been missing since June. Sabriye Mohamud went missing from a care home in Nottingham on 10 June 2013. He has connections to Barnet but despite a few unconfirmed sightings, he has still not been found.

Mystery deepens over ‘Piano Man’
The investigation into the identity of the ‘Piano Man’ is continuing today. The National Missing Persons Helpline confirmed that they have received hundreds of calls and e-mails offering suggestions of who the mysterious man might be, but the identity of the man remains unknown.

Missing persons helpline receives cash boost
The National Missing Persons Helpline (NMPH) has announced that it has been saved from insolvency, thanks to emergency funding provided by the Home Office. The Home Office has agreed to provide £300,000 for the charity, which had recently announced that it would be forced to close at the end of this month if it did not receive more financial help.
