Man arrested over newlywed daughter's murder

A 55-year-old man who was being sought for questioning following the death of his daughter has been arrested by police.

Nottinghamshire police arrested Terence Rodgers at just after 5.30pm yesterday evening during a search of Annesley Woods, near Kirkby-in-Ashfield.

Mr Rodgers' daughter, newlywed Chanel Taylor, 23, was found shot dead at her home in Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire, on July 30. Mrs Taylor's body was found by her husband Lee – the couple had been married just seven weeks.

Mr Rodgers has been taken to an undisclosed police station in the county where he will be examined by a police surgeon, a police spokesperson said.

Around 450 Nottinghamshire police officers had been combing the north of the county since Friday as part of Operation Rendition. The operation was launched in an effort to track down two suspects for murders which police do not believe are related.

Robert Boyer, 42, was wanted for questioning in connection with the murder of Keith Frogson. Mr Frogson, 62, died after he was attacked in the street outside his home in Annesley Woodhouse on Monday July 19. Mr Boyer was arrested on Saturday.

Mr Rodgers arrest last night brings Operation Rendition to a close.
