Lincolnshire police launch double murder inquiry

Police in Lincolnshire have launched a murder inquiry after discovering the bodies of a man and a woman at a bungalow in Trusthorpe.

A post mortem examination has revealed that the couple died as a result of gunshot wounds, the BBC has reported.

The discovery was made at around 9.30pm on Sunday evening when police were called to an address on Sutton Road, Trusthorpe. A police spokesperson said that they had identified the bodies but would not be making any details public until the families had been informed.

As a result of the incident, the A52 road between Mablethorpe and Trusthorpe has been closed. It will re-open after the full forensic examination of the scene is completed.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
