Two Britons die in Baghdad suicide bombing
Two Britons were among the 11 people killed in a Baghdad suicide bombing this morning.
The blast decimated a three-vehicle convoy of western civilians and contractors travelling through a busy thoroughfare in the Iraqi capital at around 9.15am local time. Five foreigners were reported to be among the dead, and several victims were Iraqis shopping in nearby buildings. A two-storey office building was also destroyed by the massive blast.
Dozens of people were hurt, at least three of whom were foreigners who were injured seriously.
An angry crowd gathered at the blast site, and US troops and Iraqi policemen had to fire into the air to disperse them.
