Beckham receives OBE from Queen
England captain, David Beckham has received an OBE from the Queen at Buckingham Palace today.
The Real Madrid star, who was nominated for his honour by Prime Minister Tony Blair, was accompanied to the palace by his wife Victoria.
Beckham described his OBE as the "best" honour he had ever received and said the day had been "amazing" for both him and his family.
It is believed the Queen asked the former Manchester United player how he coped with travelling from Spain, where he plays his weekly football, to England, in which he replied it was "not a problem".
Beckham arrived at the palace in a formal morning dress of black top hat and tails while his pop star wife wore a tailored, knee-length outfit and designer feathered hat.
The couple travelled in a chauffeur-driven silver Bentley, followed close behind by Beckham's grandparents in a second Bentley.
