Al Qaeda suspect arrested in Gloucester
Gloucestershire Constabulary officers working with the Metropolitan Police Service have arrested a 24-year-old man at his home address in the Barton Street area of Gloucester this morning.
The man, who is suspected to have connections with Al Qaeda, has been arrested under Section 41 of the Terrorist Act on suspicion of involvement in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism. He has been taken into custody to a police station in Wiltshire.
Searches of the address are ongoing.
The immediate area has been evacuated as a precaution due to the possibility explosives may be on the premises, police said.

Two men have been arrested in Bristol under the Terrorism Act, police have confirmed. A man of Afghan origin was arrested in the Castle Park area of Bristol on suspicion of drugs-related offences around 10pm on Wednesday night.

Police have arrested a 19-year-old man in Birmingham this morning under the Terrorism Act. The man who has not been named is being held for questioning after he was arrested in the Selly Oak area of Birmingham in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Wanted Man Arrested In London
The man wanted in connection with the murder of a 66-year-old man who intervened during a robbery, has been arrested. Ian John McLoughlin, 55, was arrested in London at around 01:00. He was wanted on suspicion of murder and robbery. Airports and ports had been put on alert as police hinted for McLoughlin.
