Police appeal over missing Lincolnshire teen

Police are appealing for information following the disappearance and suspected abduction of Lincolnshire teenager Kirsty Blakey.

Kirsty, aged-14, from Goldsmith Walk in Lincoln, was initially reported missing on Wednesday October 22 after attending Lincoln County Hospital suffering the effects of an overdose.

Kirsty and her 26-year-old boyfriend John Wayne Marshall, 26, from the St Giles estate in Lincoln, were traced by the Devon and Cornwall Police in Torquay early on Thursday. She was placed with temporary foster parents pending collection by her family, but later absconded and is believed to be with Mr Marshall.

The pair have connections with the West Country, Leicester, Newark, Lincoln and possibly Elgin in Scotland, and could travelled to either of these locations.

Lincolnshire Police have said that they want to question Mr Marshall on suspicion of abducting Kirsty, although there is no suggestion that this is against her will.

Her family have said that they are concerned for her welfare and the police and social services feel she is vulnerable because of her age and the fact that she has taken an overdose recently.

Her relationship with Mr Marshall has been described by them both as "platonic" but this requires "further examination by the authorities".

Anyone who has information should contact Lincolnshire police on 01522 532222.
