Man Shot In Face With Pellet Gun During Robbery In Brixton

A man has been shot in the face with a pellet gun during a robbery in Brixton, south London.

The 44-year-old employee has been treated in hospital for his injuries however he needs surgery to remove ball-bearing like pellets from his eyes.

Two men entered the Phambra Foodstore in Lyham Road at around 8.35pm on Sunday.

The men stole the cash register and ran off towards Thornbury Road.

The Metropolitan Police have released CCTV footage of the robbery and appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

11-Year-Old Shot In The Head With Pellet Gun
An 11-year-old boy has been shot in the head during an under-12s football match in Chester-le-Street, Co Durham, on Saturday. The boy, named as Connor Minto, was left with a pellet lodged above his left eye after he was shot with what police believe to have been an air rifle.

Man Arrested Over Fatal Suspected Bank Raid
A man has been arrested in connection with a suspected armed robbery in which two men were shot and killed. The man was arrested in the Raynes Park in southwest London. The two men who were killed were shot by police firearms officers outside a branch of HSBC bank in Chandler's Ford in Southampton on Thursday.

Pellet gun teacher freed
The Court of Appeal has freed Linda Walker, the teacher who was jailed for firing a pellet gun during an argument with a group of youths. The 48-year-old special needs teacher from Urmston, Greater Manchester received a six month jail sentence after being convicted of affray and possessing a firearm on March 29.

Appeal Following Attempted Armed Robbery
Detectives from Trident have today issued an E-fit following an attempted armed robbery in Canning Town, east London on Monday 21 February. Police were called at approximately 5.30pm following reports of shots fired at a woman sitting in her car on Ivy Road.

Attempted Armed Robbery On Bookmakers Crumlin Road
Detectives in Grosvenor Road are appealing for witnesses following an attempted armed robbery of a Bookmakers shop in the Crumlin Road area around teatime on Wednesday. Shortly after 6pm it was reported that a male aged between 18 and 20 entered the premises and smashed a pane of security glass at the counter in an attempt to steal money.
