Fireworks Seized By Authorities In Liverpool
Police in Merseyside have seized a quantity of fireworks from a business premises on Liverpool.
Police and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service responded to reports of that fireworks were being stored without a licence at an address on Smithdown Road in Edge Hill.
The seizure came just 24 hours after fireworks were seized from premises in Birkenhead.
Station Manager Chris Head, of Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service, said: "Our officers are supporting businesses to ensure they store and sell fireworks safely and legally.
"During the bonfire period our officers are working with Merseyside Police and carrying out joint visits to retail premises. Merseyside Fire and Rescue Authority seized a quantity of fireworks from premises in Edge Hill that are suspected to have been stored without a licence."
DC Diane Rourke of Merseyside Police Partnership Interventions added: "This is a perfect example of partnership working between Merseyside Police & Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service for the benefit of the community. Anyone with any information about fireworks being stored illegally is asked to call the Crimestoppers line anonymously on 0800 555 111."

Fireworks factory fire investigators waiting for access
Investigators are waiting to gain access to the scene of a fire at a fireworks factory at which two firefighters were killed. No one has been able to enter the site because of fears that 20 gas cylinders on the site could explode. They have been left to cool down before investigators will be allowed onto the site.
