The Prime Minister has announced a joint UK and China initiative, aimed at eradicating extreme poverty.
Prime Minister David Cameron announced the initiative during a state visit to the UK by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The partnership will tackle poverty and help achieve the Global Goals, ensuring no one is left behind.
Prime Minister David Cameron said: "The UK and China will work more closely to tackle global poverty and promote economic development in Africa, global health, international disaster relief and opportunities for women and girls.
"It is testament to our strong relationship that we are able to work on these important issues."
International Development Secretary, Justine Greening added: "Britain and China are very different countries but both have huge experience of development.
"Britain and China have successfully worked together on development and humanitarian crises – whether fighting Ebola in Sierra Leone or responding to the recent earthquakes in Nepal.
"This partnership will allow us to work together to drive economic growth, gender equality and effective disaster response even more effectively – and in doing so transform some of the world's poorest countries and make real progress towards achieving the Global Goals."
