Four Arrested Following Death Of Buckley Teenager
Four people have been arrested in connection with the death of a teenage boy in Brockley, south London.
Police were called to reports of a fight in St Norbet Road, at about 15:12 on Saturday, 26 September.
However, when police arrived they found a car that had collided with a lamp post.
A 17-year-old boy was taken to a south London hospital in a critical condition. He was pronounced dead in hospital at 17:23.
The other two men suffered minor cuts to their hands.
Next of kin have been informed and formal identification is scheduled to take place in due course.
Police have said that their initial investigation suggests that "a group of youths attacked the vehicle by throwing items at it as it made off from St Norbert Road. The vehicle subsequently collided with a lamp post as it headed towards Loampit Vale."
Four men, aged 20, 21, 23 and 19, have all been arrested in connection with the investigation. They currently remain in custody at various south London police stations.
Detective Chief Inspector Luke Marks said: "The incident occurred mid-afternoon and there were a number of people around who may have witnessed what happened or the events leading up to the death of this teenage boy. We are still trying to understand the sequence of events and it is vital that those who know what may have happened come forward and assist us with our inquiry."
