Police Officer Dismissed After Indecent Assault Hearing

A Thames Valley Police officer has been dismissed after reports he indecently assaulted a colleague while off duty.

Detective Sergeant Mark Brashaw faced a gross misconduct hearing after allegations of indecent assault on two separate occasions in July 2013 and January 2014.

Mr Brashaw was found to have breached Standards of Professional Behaviour for Authority, Respect and Courtesy and Discreditable Conduct.

The matter was referred to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) however no criminal charges were filed.

Det Ch Supt Tim De Meyer said the case was "particularly concerning".

"Cases of this nature are extremely rare, however the outcome sends a strong message to officers as to the consequences of this behaviour and to the public that TVP will deal with such matters robustly," he said.
