Police Appeal For Man Missing From Glasgow Hospital

Police Scotland have appealed for help in tracing a man missing from a Glasgow hospital.

Iain McHarg, 58, is a patient at Leverndale Hospital in the Pollok area and was last seen at 1330 hours on Tuesday 11 August 2015.

He is described as 6'2", heavy build, bald with short grey hair at the sides and stubble. He is believed to be wearing a black jumper, black trousers and black and grey walking boots.

Inspector Iain Greene said: "Iain was a long-term resident at Leverndale Hospital and was due to be released.

"He disappeared before he was discharged and we are concerned about his well-being.

"Iain is known to frequent a number of casinos in the Glasgow area and I would appeal to anyone who recognises his description to contact police immediately.

"I would also appeal directly to Iain to get in touch to let us know he is safe."

Mental Hospital Patients Recaptured
Two psychiatric hospital patients have been recaptured, having escaped and been at large for for nearly 24 hours. Terry Powell, 35, of Cornwall, and Jason Lord, 23, of Devon, fled from a wing at Langdon Hospital in Dawlish on Tuesday night at about 11pm.

NMP Stripped Of £9m Sellafield Deal
Nuclear Management Partners (NMP) has been stripped of a £9 million deal to clean up the nuclear waste at Sellafield, the government has announced. In a statement the NMP said it was "surprised" and "naturally disappointed" about the decision.

Olympic Sailor Dies After Boat Capsizes
British Olympic sailor, Andrew 'Bart' Simpson, has died. In a statement on the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) website, Mr Simpson died after a Swedish catamaran capsized during a training session for this year's America's Cup. The 36-year-old, a double Olympic medallist, was one of an 11-man crew on board the Artemis Racing vessel.
