Police Renew Appeal For DJ Derek

Avon and Somerset have renewed their appeal for information on the whereabouts of Derek Serpell-Morris, who has been missing for over a month.

73-year-old Derek, known as DJ Derek, has been missing since Friday, 10 July.

He was last seen on CCTV at The Criterion Pub, Ashley Road, Bristol, at 23:38 on 10 July.

CCTV then shows him leaving the premises at approximately 00.13 on 11 July.

This is the last confirmed sighting of Derek, although a number of other sightings have been reported to police, which they describe as "credible".

Detective Inspector Clare Hargreaves said: "Derek Serpell-Morris, known to many as DJ Derek, has now been missing for a month.

"Firstly, I would like to appeal directly to Derek to make contact with your family or call us now on 101 if you can.

"The reaction to your disappearance has been felt nationwide and so many people just want to know you are ok.

"Secondly, I want to renew our appeal for information from members of the public who may have had contact with or seen Derek in the last month.

"Since Derek was reported missing on Thursday 23 July, we've conducted a thorough and wide-spread search investigation.

"This has involved detailed CCTV examinations, house to house enquiries and physical searches.

"We have also had a large number of reported sightings following our public appeal and we are continuing to work through all of these."

Derek is described as a white male, of average height, of slim build with grey hair. He wears glasses and was last seen wearing a brown jacket, brown waistcoat and a black shirt.
