Police Appeal For Witnesses After Boy, 9, Assaulted

Police in Daventry have appealed for witnesses to an incident in which a nine-year-old boy was assaulted while walking his dog.

On Friday, 07 August, the boy was walking his dog on Kingsley Avenue between 15:30 and 15:45.

The dog is said to have barked at a man as he passed the boy. The man is said to have swore at the boy, before pushing the dog and causing the the boy to fall backwards.

The man is described as white, with tanned skin, about 6ft, with a medium build and about 40-years-old. He had balding, black/grey hair and was wearing a grey T-shirt and jeans. He spoke with a Scottish accent.

10-Year-Old Boy Bitten By Police Dog
Police have launched an investigation after a boy was accidentally bitten by a police dog in his back garden. Officers were called to Western Road in Oldbury after a report of four men stealing copper wiring near to the train station. They were seen running away from the area and the copper wiring was found on a pathway nearby.

Boy Mauled By Rottweiler In Southend
A seven-year-old boy has received serious arm and back injuries after being mauled by a Rottweiler on Southend seafront. The boy, who is from Westcliff, was paddling in the sea on Eastern Esplanade in the area opposite the turning for Chelsea Avenue at around 4.15pm on Friday.

Police Were Warned Over Dangerous Dog
An internal police investigation has been mounted after it emerged today that concerns about dogs at the 'house of death' in Liverpool were reported to the force as long ago as last February. John-Paul Massey was attacked by the animal while he was at his grandmother's house in Liverpool in the early hours of Monday.

Police Hunt 'Dog Strangler'
Police in the West Midlands are trying to trace a man seen on CCTV walking from a Birmingham park seconds after appearing to strangle his dog to death. Police today appealed for witnesses to the killing, which followed an attack on a four-year-old boy as he played in Washwood Heath Park.

Man Arrested Over Dog Attack
A man has been arrested after a nine-year-old boy suffered facial injuries in a savage dog attack. The 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog, which was dangerously out of control, following the incident in South Shields, South Tyneside. He has since been released on bail.
