Police Appeal For Witnesses To Leeds Armed Robbery
West Yorkshire Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to the armed robbery of a supermarket petrol station in Leeds.
On Monday, 27 July, a man armed with a screwdriver forced his way into the petrol station as a female member of staff was locking up. The man held the screwdriver to the woman's neck and demanded money.
The attacker escaped with a substantial amount of money.
He is described as white, aged in his late 20s to early 30s, about 5ft 8ins tall and slim. He had fair or ginger hair and blotchy skin with acne scarring around his eyes.
Detective Constable Sarah Banks, of Leeds District CID, said: "This was a frightening experience for the two female members of staff who were working at the time and we would urgently like to hear from anyone who thinks they know who this man might be or who saw someone fitting his description in the area at the time."
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or call the independent crime fighting charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

According to a report by the BBC, Mr Balls was fined and given five penalty points for driving away after his car hit a parked car outside Labour's Unity Club in Morley, West Yorkshire on 05 April.

Investigation continues as armed officers shoot man dead
Investigations were continuing today following the killing of a 23-year old man by armed officers from the Metropolitan Police in the Thornton Heath area of south London. According to police, a handgun was recovered at the scene of the shooting, which took place at around 11.25am on Wednesday in Raymead Passage, London Road in Thornton Heath.

West Yorkshire police have published photographs of 28 people as part of an inquiry into violence at two Leeds United matches earlier this year. A poster, featuring photographs of those the police wish to speak to, has been published on the police web site, following a four-month long investigation.

British Man Dies In Dubai Police Custody
A British man has died in police custody in Dubai. Lee Bradley Brown, 39, from east London, died on Tuesday after he was taken to a Dubai police station where he was allegedly assaulted and put into a cell. It has been reported that Mr Brown, was arrested over a row at the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab hotel.

Man Arrested Over Kent Doctor's Murder
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a doctor in Kent. Consultant paediatrician Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, was found in her car in the driveway of her home in Dartford on August 14. She had been stabbed to death. Kent Police said that the man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Dartford.
