Appeal For Witnesses Following Rape In North Tyneside
Northumbria Police have issued an appeal for information following the report of a rape in North Tyneside on Saturday afternoon.
Police said that a 28-year-old reported that she was raped near to Hadrian Road in Wallsend on Saturday, 01 August.
The offender is described as white, aged between 28 and 35, between 5ft and 6 ft tall with broad shoulders, pale complexion and dark brown hair, he also possibly had a broken nose. He is also said to have a long forehead and thick bushy eyebrows.
He was wearing a black Nike hoodie with the hood up, navy blue jeans and white trainers, and spoke with a strong geordie accent.
Detective Inspector Louise Cass-Williams said: "We need to speak to anyone who was in or around Hadrian Road sometime between 2.30pm and 4pm yesterday afternoon as they may have information that can help with our enquiries.
"We have extra officers in the area today and they are speaking to local residents to see if anyone saw or heard anything. There will be more patrols in the area and a visible policing presence to reassure the community and give people the opportunity to speak to the police.
"We recognise this incident will cause concerns for the community and the public can be assured we are doing everything possible to establish what has happened.
"Incidents of this nature are extremely traumatic for the victim and we are working with the victim and supporting her at this time."

Appeal Continues Into Newcastle Rape
Police in Newcastle are continuing to appeal for anyone with information about a sexual offence to come forward. The incident happened between 1.30am and 1.50am on Saturday, December 17, on Barrack Road in the west end of Newcastle, when a 27-year-old woman had been walking along the road, near to Leazes Park.

Northumbria Police Renew Rape Investigation Appeal
Police investigating an attempted rape in Newcastle have issued a new appeal for information. On September 3 in 2014 a report was received of an attempted rape of a 14-year-old girl. It's believed the incident happened in the park opposite Bedeburn Road and Newbiggin Lane in Newcastle sometime in May.
