M8 Crash Victim Named By Police
Police have released the name of a man who died in a road collision on the M8 in Scotland earlier this week.
At around 8.50am on Monday (20 July), a Peugeot 206, Kia Rio, Mercedes van and an articulated HGV were involved in the accident. The motorway was subsequently closed in both directions for almost eight hours.
One man, who has since been named as Wayne Strickland, 49, and from Inverkeithing, died in the collision. The other occupants of the other vehicles were taken to hospital for minor injuries.
Police have said they are investigating the full circumstances of the incident, but it is understood Mr Strickland was the driver of the Peugeot 206.
Any witnesses to the collision are asked to contact police.

More than 20 people have been injured, 4 or 5 seriously, in a collision involving three troop carriers on Salisbury Plain. Wiltshire Police were called to the accident at about 18:30 on Wednesday. The cause of the accident is being investigated but it is understood that 4 or 5 people have suffered "life-changing injuries".

A major police hunt has begun after a five-year-old boy with a brain tumour, was taken by his family without consent from Southampton General Hospital. Police said that Ashya King was taken from the hospital by Brett King, 51, and Naghemeh King, 45, on Thursday. It is thought he may have been taken to France.

Kent Police, in partnership with officers from the Metropolitan Police Service, have arrested two men in East London on suspicion of conspiracy to commit armed robbery. On 3 May, Kent Police began a search for Michael Wheatley, 55, who had failed to return to HMP Standford Hill after being released on temporary licence.
