Manchester Man Charged With 10 Firearms Offences

A 45-year-old man has been charged with a total of ten firearms offences in Blackley, Manchester.

Police executed a warrant at an address on Rochdale Road, arresting Mark Jason Freeman for firearms offences.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Manchester Crown Square on 17 July, 2015.

Police recovered weapons and ammunition during the arrest.

Fire At Police Firearms Training Centre
Firefighters remain at the scene of a fire, at the new police firearms training centre site at Valley Road, Portishead. Avon Fire and Rescue Service crews arrived on the scene just after 4.30am on tuesday (27 August) where they found a well-developed fire affecting the building, which is currently under construction.

Violent crime and firearms offences on the rise: police figures
Despite an overall crime dip of 5%, violent crime in England and Wales has risen by 11% compared to the same quarter last year, according to police figures out today. Firearm offences rose overall by 3% - the biggest hikes were for offences that resulted in no injury, at 28%, and for the use of imitation firearms.

21-Year-Old Charged With Grooming Offences
A 21-year-old man has been charged with grooming offences following an investigation by Greater Manchester Police's Sunrise Team in Rochdale. Ryan Howley, of Top O'The Close Road, Walsden, Todmorden, is charged with two counts of attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming and one count of inciting a child to commit sexual activity.

Woman charged with terror offences
A woman has been charged with two terror offences, Greater Manchester Police have confirmed. Mehreen Haji, 25, of Elmfield Street, Cheetham Hill, was arrested by the GMP's anti-terrorist unit on September 19 as part of an ongoing investigation.

Suspect Extradited In WPC Murder Case
A man suspected of involvement in the murder of WPC Sharon Beshenivsky has been extradited from Somalia. West Yorkshire Police said Mustaf Jama (27) had been arrested and flown back to the UK following months of international investigation.
