Police Hunt Gang After 'Vicious Attack' On Two Sutton Coalfield Teenagers

West Midlands Police have appealed for help in tracing a group of teenagers that they want to speak to in connection with a "vicious attack" on two teenagers in May.

It is understood that two 17-year-olds were surrounded by the gang on High Street in Sutton Coldfield, with one producing a hammer and another producing a screwdriver.

The gang demanded the teenagers mobile phones before attacking them. In the attack one of the teens was hit in the head with the hammer before being repeatedly hit and kicked. He was then stabbed in the ear. The other teen was also attacked, with the gang stamping on his head.

Police said that the attack only came to an end with the intervention of a passer-by, who chased the gang off.

Detectives have reviewed hours of CCTV footage from across Sutton Coalfield in an effort to identify the suspects.

Anyone who witnessed the incident shortly before 22:00 on Saturday 09 May, is asked to contact police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
