Man Charged With Child Destruction After Pregnant Woman Attacked

A 20-year-old man has been charged with child destruction and causing grievous bodily harm with intent in connection with an attack on a pregnant woman.

A 21-year-old woman was attacked by two men in Peckham, south London on Monday night. The woman, who was 32-weeks pregnant, was allegedly pushed to the ground by the men, who then stamped on and kicked her in the stomach.

The woman lost her unborn baby and remains in a critical condition in hospital.

According to a report by the BBC, the woman waited for more than an hour for an ambulance after her attack. The London Ambulance Service has issued an apology and said that the emergency call had been assessed as low priority.

Police officers transported the woman to hospital some 70 minutes after the attack.

Police renewed their appeal for anyone with any information on the attack to come forward.
