82-Year-Old Jailed For Historic Sex Offences
An 82-year-old man has been jailed for six years for the sexual abuse of a girl in his care between 2001 and 2010.
Aubrey Shaw, of Collin Avenue, Gorton, was found guilty at Manchester Crown Court and ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life.
The girl, who was 4-years-old when the abuse began, came forward in 2014.
Detective Constable Kate Burrows said: "Aubrey Shaw was a predator who took advantage of the trust placed in him to look after his young victim. He completely betrayed that trust and spent years abusing this girl.
"I would like to pay tribute to the victim for the courage that she has shown coming forward and I hope this sentence shows that we are prepared to investigate sexual assaults, no matter how much time has passed."

An 11-month-old baby has died after being mauled by a pet dog, police in Lancashire have said. The baby girl, from Emily Street in Blackburn, died in hospital at about 23:00 on Monday. Police have arrested a 26-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman on suspicion of child neglect in connection with the incident.

A 68-year-old man has been jailed for 15 years having pleaded guilty to six counts of rape and four counts of indecent assault. Edward Watson, formerly of Kippington Road, Sevenoaks, appeared before Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday 04 August, charged with the rape and abuse of a teenage girl on multiple occasions in the 1980s.

Rolf Harris To Face 13 Charges Over Child Sexual Abuse
Rolf Harris will appear in Westminster Magistrates' Court on September 23 to face nine charges of indecent assault and four of making indecent images of children, police have announced. Six of the charges relate to the indecent assault of a fifteen-year-old girl in 1980 and three to a fourteen-year-old girl in 1986.
