Man Detained At Birmingham Airport By Anti-Terror Police
A man has been arrested at Birmingham Airport on suspicion of engaging in terrorism in Syria.
Officers from the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit detained the 37-year-old man at 15:00 on Thursday. He had arrived on a flight from Istanbul.
Police said that the arrest was pre-planned and intelligence-led, and added that there was no danger to the flight he had been on.
Officers made the arrest under PACE legislation, which will allow them a maximum of 36 hours to question the suspect before charging, releasing, bailing or applying to a court for a warrant of further detention.

Seven Arrested On Suspicion Of Terrorist Fundraising
Seven people have been arrested on suspicion of terrorist financing offences, according to the Metropolitan Police. They were arrested at four separate addresses in London, Cardiff and Coventry at approximately 6am on suspicion of being concerned in the funding of a terrorist organisation, and laundering the proceeds of crime for that purpose.

Man Arrested Over Police Threat
A 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection with threats made to West Midlands Police officers and staff on Tuesday. The man was detained at a property in the West Midlands by officers from the Counter Terrorism Unit, who are leading the investigation. He is currently being held in police custody.

Two Arrested At Heathrow In Terrorism Offences
Police have arrested a man and woman at Heathrow Airport on suspicion of Syria-related terrorism offences. It is understood that a 20-year-old man and 19-year-old woman were arrested at about 22:30 on Tuesday night after they arrived in the UK on a flight from Istanbul, Turkey.

Wanted Man Arrested In London
The man wanted in connection with the murder of a 66-year-old man who intervened during a robbery, has been arrested. Ian John McLoughlin, 55, was arrested in London at around 01:00. He was wanted on suspicion of murder and robbery. Airports and ports had been put on alert as police hinted for McLoughlin.

Police have said a man arrested over the disappearance of a teenager in Shropshire is now being questioned on suspicion of her murder. Georgia Williams, 17, was last seen leaving her home on Sunday. On Wednesday, a 22-year-old man from Telford was arrested in Glasgow on suspicion of kidnapping Ms Williams.
