Eight Arrested In Oldham Drug Raids
Eight people have been arrested in Oldham as part of an ongoing campaign against drug dealing.
Officers from Greater Manchester Police carried out raids on eight address early on Wednesday morning as part of Operation Plumbline – a joint operation between Oldham’s Organised Crime Team and Serious Crime Division into the distribution of Heroin and Crack Cocaine in the Oldham area.
Inspector Paul Walker of Oldham division, said: "We are continuing to fight Organised Crime and drugs in Oldham and today’s second strike shows our determination to rid our streets of drugs.
"We are listening to our communities, who have told us they want drug-dealers taken off their streets, and we are taking action.
"Operation Plumbline has taken months of intricate planning and dedication by a large team of officers from across the Force."

Oldham Explosion Inquiry Continues
Oldham Council and a range of partner organisations across all sectors are continuing work to assist residents affected by Tuesday's explosion in Shaw. Police now say the death of the two-year-old, named as Jamie Heaton, is being treated as suspicious. The explosion in Buckley Street, also left a 27-year-old man in hospital with burns.

Police in North East Leeds have seized a revolver and a large quantity of class A heroin following two raids on properties in the Chapeltown and Meanwood areas of the city. Officers working as part of Operation Quartz - tasked with targeting drug dealers across the city - raided a property off Potternewton Lane on Wednesday.

Police campaign targets Class A drug dealers
A three-month police campaign has been launched to clamp down on local Class A drug markets across the UK. Entitled 'Operation Crackdown', the scheme, which involves 32 police forces in England and Wales, aims to close drug dens and disrupt local drug markets, as well as also seize illegal firearms and bring dealers to justice.

Further Six Arrested In No Deal Operation In Birmingham
A further six people have been arrested as part of an ongoing operation targeting suspected drug dealers in Birmingham. Police carried out a series of dawn raids on Thursday 24 September, arresting a 17-year-old man, two 19-year-olds and three men aged 21, 26 and 47.
