Manchester Airport Announces £1bn Expansion
A £1 billion ten year plan to redevelop Manchester Airport has been announced.
Plans include to expand Terminal Two along with improvements to Terminal Three.
It is understood a new security hall, increased self-service check-in facilities and additional stands for aircraft will be developed along with new shops and restaurants.
Manchester Airport Group (MAG) said the investment means the airport will demonstrate the importance of Manchester as a "global gateway".
Charlie Cornish, Chief Executive of MAG, said: "We're setting out how the airport will contribute to the development of a 'northern powerhouse' and demonstrating the dynamic, 'can-do' spirit that sums up the region."
