Man Dies And 4-Year-Old Seriously Injured In Cornwall

An investigation has been launched into an incident in Cornwall in which a man died and a four-year-old girl was seriously injured.

Emergency services were called to a house in Whitecross, near Fowey, at about 11:45 on Thursday, 28 May, following a report of concern for the welfare of two people.

It is understood that police discovered a man and young child with serious injuries.

The man, said to be aged 40, was pronounced dead at the scene, and the child was airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth with serious internal injuries. She remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police said that the two victims were "known to each other".

Police have said that an investigation into the circumstances of the incident is underway, but they are not looking for anyone else in connection with what happened.

Second M6 Crash Follows Fatal Accident
A woman motorist has died and two people have been seriously injured in a horror crash on the M6 - an incident quickly followed by another very serious accident on the same highway. Emergency services were called to the scene of the first accident between Junction 32 and 33 northbound, near Preston, just before 1.30am after four vehicles collided.

Police are continuing to investigate after an elderly man was found with serious injuries in Coventry. It is understood that a 75-year-old man was found lying in Binley Road at the junction with Far Gosford Street in Stoke around 10.45pm Friday 25 September.

Six Arrested Over Nottingham Street Brawl Death
Police investigating the death of a 19-year-old man in Nottingham have arrested six people. Joshua Bradley, of Bulwell, died following a suspected street fight in Thurland Street, on 08 February. Two men, aged 21 and 19, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Second Man Arrested After Man Is Seriously Injured In Wolverhampton
Police investigating a disturbance outside a Wolverhampton pub that saw a car veer into a crowd of people, leaving one man seriously hurt, have arrested a second man. Officers were called to reports of a disorder outside The Rookery Tavern in Wood Street at 7.30pm Sunday 4th May.

London bomb payouts reach £7 million
Around £7 million has been paid out in compensation to the victims of the July 7 London bombings, the London Bombing Relief Charitable Fund (LBRCF) has announced. The final round of major grants to those most seriously affected by the July 7 bomb attacks have now been announced.
