Block Of Flats Evacuated Following Chemical Spill
Around 35 residents of a block of flats in Lewisham were evacuated on Monday night following reports of a "strong smell of chemicals".
Fire crews were called to the flats on Bell Green just before 18:00 on Monday.
Police took the evacuated residents to safety before firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the flats to investigate.
A chemical leak was discovered in a service cupboard and traced to a fault in the building's energy system.
Fire crews ventilated the building and residents were allowed to returned shortly before 22:00.
There were no reports of any injuries.

Investigation launched into crane collapse
An investigation has been launched after a crane collapsed onto a block of flats in south-west London, killing two people. Emergency services were called to the building site in Battersea Park around 6pm last night following reports that a crane had smashed into flats in the area.

Nursing Home Residents Evacuated During Fire
All residents of a nursing home in Sutton had to be evacuated in the early hours of Wednesday morning due to a fire. Six engines and 30 firefighters responded to reports of a fire on the Avenue in Cheam just before 2am. It is understood that the fire affected the top floor and roof space of the three storey home.

Derbyshire Police have said a number of homes in Clay Cross have been evacuated following reports of a 'suspicious package' in the area. At 2.25am this morning (26 June), police received a report of a suspicious package in Victoria Street. An army bomb disposal team has been called to the scene.

More than 200 people have been forced to evacuate their homes following a fire at a chemical plant in Herefordshire. Around 80 firefighters from several counties were sent to tackle the blaze at the Skymark plant on Southern Avenue in Leominster, Herefordshire, which started at 3.30am this morning.
