Police Appeal For Help To Find Father And Son

Essex Police are appealing for help to find man who is missing with his three-year-old son.

Robert Gurling from Romford, and his son, were both seen at Great Notley near Braintree at about 10.30am on Saturday 2 May.

Despite an extensive police search by ground units and the police helicopter Mr Gurling and the boy have not been traced.

Mr Gurling is white, aged in his 40s, 6ft tall, and of medium build. He has cropped dark brown greying hair and was wearing a grey tracksuit top and jeans.

The boy has blonde hair and was wearing a jacket, grey tracksuit bottoms and red trainers.

They may be travelling in a blue car.

DCI Simon Werrett said : "Mr Gurling has abducted his child from the foster parents. He is not allowed unsupervised access to the child and therefore we need to urgently locate the child to ensure he is safe and well. Anyone who sees them should phone 999 immediately. Anyone with less-urgent information about their whereabouts should call Essex Police on 01245 282103."

Man Charged With Manslaughter

A man from Manchester has been charged with manslaughter.

Brett Gleeson of Drake Street has been remanded in custody to appear at Manchester Crown Court Crown Square today, 6 May.

Just after 12.30am on Thursday 26 March 2015, officers were called to the Mucky Duck pub on Drake Street following reports a man had been found collapsed outside the pub.

On arrival, 28-year-old Adam Nightingale was found with head injuries. He was taken to hospital but died a short time later.

Investigation Launches Following Attempted Robbery

Merseyside Police have launched an investigation following an attempted robbery in Wallasey, Liverpool on Monday night.

At around 10.50pm, a man armed with a knife entered Bargain Booze on Brighton Street. The man approached the counter, threatened the staff member and demanded money.

The member of staff refused and the man left the shop empty handed.

Police were informed, a patrol attended and a search of the area was conducted. Enquiries are on-going and CCTV is being examined.

The offender is described as being white, aged in his 20s of a slim/medium build. He was wearing black and grey tracksuit bottoms, a black Adidas tracksuit top and black gloves. He spoke with a local accent and had his face covered during the incident.

Although uninjured the staff member was left distressed following his ordeal.

British Man Dies In Dubai Police Custody
A British man has died in police custody in Dubai. Lee Bradley Brown, 39, from east London, died on Tuesday after he was taken to a Dubai police station where he was allegedly assaulted and put into a cell. It has been reported that Mr Brown, was arrested over a row at the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab hotel.

Man Arrested Over Kent Doctor's Murder
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a doctor in Kent. Consultant paediatrician Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, was found in her car in the driveway of her home in Dartford on August 14. She had been stabbed to death. Kent Police said that the man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Dartford.

Investigation Launched Into Hotel Body Find
A murder investigation has been launched following the discovery of a woman's body in a Hull hotel room. Police said they were called to the Ibis hotel on Osborne Street at 13:00 on Sunday, where they discovered the body of a woman. She is yet t be identified.

Man Arrested For 2002 Murder Of Becky Godden
Police investigating the disappearance of Becky Godden on December 2002, have arrested a 51-year-old man on suspicion of murder. Ms Godden was aged 20 when she disappeared in Swindon on 27 December. Her remains were found in 2011 on farmland in Gloucestershire.

Man Arrested Over Sexual Assault In Somerset
Police investigating a sexual assault in Somerset, during which a mother and child were tied up and held at knifepoint, have arrested a 59-year-old man. Police arrested the man on suspicion of aggravated burglary and sexual assault, in connection with the incident in Sydenham, Bridgewater on 21 January.
