Murder Suspect Arrested After 16 Days On The Run
Police have captured a 19-year-old man wanted on suspicion of murder, who has been on the run since 13 April.
In a joint operation between West Midlands Police and Avon & Somerset Police, Dylan Jackson was arrested in Bath, Somerset at about 20:45 on Thursday night.
He was wanted in connection with the murder of Herman Simpson, who was found stabbed to death at his home in Wolverhampton.
Police said that the arrested came thanks to information received on Thursday following a Crimestoppers appeal, during which a £5,000 reward was offered.
Detective Inspector Warren Hines, who is leading the investigation, said: "Jackson has been transported to a police station in the West Midlands and will be questioned by detectives today in connection with Mr Simpson’s murder.
"We've had a fantastic response since the Crimestoppers appeal for information and I’d like to thank everyone who’s taken the time to get in touch.
"This is still very much a live enquiry and we’re still appealing for information…I’d urge anyone with information about Mr Simpson’s murder to call me immediately."
Anyone with information is asked to call DI Hines on the 101 number or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
