Karen Buckley Funeral To Be Held Today

A funeral is to be held today in Mallow, north Cork, Ireland, for Karen Buckley, who was murdered in Glasgow earlier this month.

Ms Buckley's body was flown home to Ireland on Monday, accompanied by her parents and brothers.

The 24-year-old student nurse had moved to Glasgow in February to study occupational therapy at Glasgow Caledonian University.

She went missing after a night out with friends on 11 April. Police discovered her body four days later at High Craigton farm, near Drymen.

A 21-year-old man have been charged with her murder.

Her funeral Mass will be held at the Church of St Michael the Archangel in Analeentha at 14:00 BST on Tuesday, before burial at St John's Cemetery in Burnfoot.

On Monday night, thousands of people attended the removal of Ms Buckley's body in Mallow.

Body Found On Glasgow Farm Confirmed As Missing Student
Police in Scotland have confirmed that a body discovered on a farm north of Glasgow was that is missing Irish student Karen Buckley. Human remains were found at the isolated farm on Wednesday by officers searching for the 24-year-old, who had gone missing in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Karen Buckley's Murderer Jailed For Life
A man found guilty of murdering student Karen Buckley has been jailed for life. Ms Buckley, 24, who was originally from Cork, went missing in Glasgow after a night out with friends. Her body was found on a farm four days later. Alexander Pacteau, 21, killed the student shortly after meeting her outside a nightclub in April of this year.

Human Remains Found At Glasgow Farm
Police searching for missing student Karen Buckley have uncovered human remains at a farm to the north of Glasgow. Formal identification has not yet been made, but police have said they believe the remains are those of the 24-year-old Irish woman, who went missing in the city in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Funeral held for murdered teacher
The funeral of a British teacher who was murdered in Tokyo is taking place today. Lindsay Hawker, 22, was found dead in a bath of sand in an apartment in the Japanese capital in March. She had been badly beaten and strangled. Miss Hawker, from Brandon, Warks, had been teaching English in Japan since October.

Funeral of murdered toddler held
More than 100 mourners have attended the funeral of murdered toddler Casey Leigh Mullen. The two-year-old was found dead at her home in Oak Tree Crescent in Gipton in Leeds on February 11. A post-mortem revealed that the toddler died from compression of the neck.
