Lecturer And Student Guilty Of Child Abuse Images

A Coventry University lecturer and former student have been jailed for making and distributing images of child abuse.

Martyn Lee, 53, of Eaves Green Lane, Meriden, admitted making and distributing indecent images of children.

Lee was arrested at Coventry University in February 2014, where he was a principal lecturer in Communication Culture and Media. He was dismissed from the university shortly after his arrest.

Sophie Nightingale, 23, of Bath Lane, Hixon, Stafford, a former performing arts student, is understood to have been involved in a relationship with Lee.

She admitted four charges of possessing and distributing child abuse images.

The pair will appear again at Coventry Crown Court on 18 May for sentencing.

School IT Manager Jailed Over Indecent Images
A IT Manager at a school in Wales has been jailed following the discovery of 400,000 indecent images of children. Swansea's Crown Court today heard how Jeffrey Gravell, 54, had stolen computers from Coedcae Comprehensive in Llanelli, and used them to download the pictures and videos at his home.

Subliminal advertising 'affects brain'

Using brain scans, researchers looked at whether an image you aren't aware of - but one that reaches the retina - has an impact on brain activity in the primary visual cortex, part of the occipital lobe.
