Body Found Following House Fire

An investigation has launched into a fatal house fire in Bottesford in Leicestershire.

Emergency services were called out to reports of a house fire in Grantham Road at about 13.50 on Sunday.

Firefighters subsequently found a body inside the building. Police are working to established the identity of the victim, the cause of death and the cause of the fire.

Heroic Tyne Firemen Honoured
Two Tyne and Wear firefighters are to be recognised for their bravery at a special ceremony today. Andrew Nelson and Allan Richardson will be presented with the Chief Fire Officer's Commendations for brave and meritorious conduct after saving a man's life. The men took part in a dramatic rescue in the early hours of 4 February.

Suspicious Glasgow Car Fires
Detectives in Glasgow's East End are investigating a spate of vehicle fire attacks in the city yesterday. Shortly after 3.30am police were called to a report of a vehicle fire in Ashvale Crescent, Glasgow. Upon arrival police were advised by Strathclyde Fire Service that four vehicles had been damaged by fire.

Teen Jailed For Killing Sisters In House Fire
A teenager has been jailed for killing his two sisters in a house fire. Eighteen-year-old Shane Spence had previously denied killing Tatum, 14 and Demi-Jade, 12. The young girls died from smoke inhalation at their three-bedroom home in Lisle Road, South Shields, last April.

Faulty Charger 'Probable' Cause Of Sheffield House Fire
South Yorkshire Police said the most probable cause of the Sheffield house fire which killed five people two weeks ago was a faulty charging device.
