Missing schoolgirl discovered in Scotland
Missing teenager Stacey Champ has been found in Scotland, along with 46-year-old David Milner, the man she ran away with.
The 14-year-old girl and Mr Milner were found in a car in Caithness in Scotland on Monday morning, after having apparently spent the night in the vehicle.
Police said the pair were spotted by a member of the public who had recognised the car following police reports.
The car was then blocked in and police officers approached the pair in the car while they were sleeping.
A witness who saw the pair being apprehended by police, said that Stacey was tearful after police handcuffed Mr Milner, who appeared shocked.
Stacey vanished from her home in Gillingham, Kent, on Thursday. They spent at least two nights in Blackpool, where they were apparently posing as a man and wife at a hotel.
Staff at the hotel said that Stacey did not look 14 and that the pair had appeared to be an “ordinary couple”.
Stacey’s parents have said that she is ”welcome to return home when she is ready”.
Police, who thanked the public for their support, confirmed that Mr Milner had been taken into custody and that both he and Stacey would be taken separately to Kent.
Following Stacey’s disappearance on Thursday, the first reported sighting of the pair was in Newbury. Mr Milner’s van was later found in Bristol where he bought a red VW Golf, the car that they were later found in.
