16-Year-Old Critical After Being Hit By Police Car

A teenage boy is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a police car in Erdington area of Birmingham.

It is understood the incident happened outside a police station and that the officer driving the car administered "life-saving first aid" until paramedics arrived.

West Midlands Police said they understand the officer was alone in the car and was on a routine patrol at the time of the accident.

A full investigation into the incident has been launched and the Independent Police Complaints Commission has been informed.

Community police officer remains critically ill
A police community support officer remains in a critical condition in a Greater Manchester hospital after being stabbed in the neck. Greater Manchester Police said that Gary Etchells, 47, had twice undergone surgery at Tameside General Hospital and was now back in intensive care.
