Man Killed In Major Collision In North Wales

A man has died in a four vehicle collision on the main A55 expressway in north Wales.

It is understood that two lorries, a van and another vehicle were involved in a collision between St Asaph and Abergele at St George, Conwy county at about 08:30 on Tuesday morning.

Police said the road has been closed to allow for a forensic examination, and is expected to remain closed for most of the day.

No more details of the deceased have been released.

Second Collision On A55 Expressway
North Wales Police have reported a second collision on the A55 expressway in north Wales, which shut the road completely. A man was fatally injured in a collision involving two HGV lorries and a transit van on Tuesday morning between St Asaph and Abergale.

A 10-year-old is being treated in hospital for serious head injuries after he was in collision with a taxi in Swansea. South Wales Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident at 8.45pm last night immediately outside the Mosque in St Helen's Road, Swansea. A white Vauxhall Vectra taxi was involved.

Unlicensed Minicab Driver Jailed For Killing Passenger
An unlicensed minicab driver has been jailed for eight years for causing the death of a passenger. Matab Uddin, 59, of Blackshots Lane, Essex was found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving and fraud. The court heard how police were called on Sunday, 17 November 2013 at about 1:45am to reports of a man injured on Essex Road.

Investigation Launched After Death Of Woman Following Bus Fall
A woman has died in hospital after falling on a route E3 bus on Chiswick High Road, just after 13:30 on Tuesday, 18 August. The 77-year-old woman was taken to hospital by ambulance, where she was pronounced dead shortly before 17:00.

Up To Four Suffer 'Life-Changing' Injuries In Troop Carrier Collision
More than 20 people have been injured, 4 or 5 seriously, in a collision involving three troop carriers on Salisbury Plain. Wiltshire Police were called to the accident at about 18:30 on Wednesday. The cause of the accident is being investigated but it is understood that 4 or 5 people have suffered "life-changing injuries".
