24-Hour Weekend Train Service Introduced In London

All-night rail services are to be offered at weekends on Tube services, the London Overground and Docklands Light Railway.

A 24-hour service is to operating on London Underground's Piccadilly, Victoria, Central, Jubilee and Northern lines by the end of the year, with the services to be extended to the Metropolitan, Circle, District, and Hammersmith & City lines later.

The service will be extended to London Overground services by 2017 and the Docklands Light Railway by 2021.

Introducing the service would add more than £6bn to the London economy by 2030, Mayor Boris Johnson said.

TfL Announce 24-Hour Weekend Service
Transport for London (TfL) has announced a new 24-hour service on weekends from 12th September 2015. TfL has said the new Friday and Saturday night service will see six trains per hour running through central London on the Jubilee and Victoria lines, and most of the Piccadilly, Central and Northern lines.

Man Jailed For Attempted Murder Of Pc
A south London man has been jailed for 25 years for tying to shoot a policeman. Michael Mitchell, 32, of Babington Road, Streatham, was convicted of attempting to murder Pc Shaun Callow, possession of a firearm and possession of drugs with intent to supply.

Girl Shot In Hackney Dies
A teenage girl who was shot in the neck while standing in a Hackney pizza shop has died. At around 7.15pm on Wednesday, police were called to reports of a shooting at Hoxton Chicken and Pizza fast food outlet in Hoxton Street, Hackney, east London.

Rail Staff Set For £650 Olympic Bonus
