BT Order Removal Of Phone Box 'Library'
Telecoms company BT have ordered the removal of books from a "phone box library" in South Bar, Banbury in Oxfordshire.
A note affixed to the working phone box from BT, states they are "concerned the books and shelving could cause injury if they were to fall," and gives a deadline of 03 March.
According to reports local residents have said that BT is "being silly" by asking them to remove the 40 books currently available from the 'library'.

BT to increase pay phone charges
The cost of calls made from BT pay phones is to increase to a minimum of 40p from November, the company has announced. The change means that users will will now pay 40p for a 20-minute phone call, compared to the current rate of 30p for 15 minutes. BT said that the increased costs would help to maintain all of their 63,500 pay phones.

Teenager charged over BT phone fire
A teenage boy has been charged in connection with a blaze at telephone exchange in Scotland which disrupted services to almost 25,000 customers. The 13-year-old was charged last night with wilful fireraising and a report is being drawn up for the Reporter ot the Children's Panel.

Fire at BT exchange disrupts phone services
Up to 25,000 BT customers have had their services disrupted after a fire broke in a telephone exchange in Scotland last night. The fire at the facility on Mansfield Road, Musselburgh, mostly affected customers around Musselburgh, Longniddry and Gullane where landlines and some mobile phones are out of operation – including 999 services.

BT tunnel fire cuts off Manchester phone lines
A fire in a BT utility tunnel has severely disrupted telecommunications in Manchester City centre. Police have described the incident as "serious" as calls to emergency services have been affected. Some 130,000 telephone lines have been cut off by the fire in the underground tunnel in Manchester.

Phone lines cut by burglars
BT has had to restore service to around 35,000 households and businesses after phone lines were cut by burglars. BT engineers had to repair the cables, which were damaged at an exchange when thieves broke into a postal sorting office in Handsworth in the early hours of Sunday morning.
